Pat's Story
Life
I still am around the Glendale area, live in Sunland since 1978, same house. I've worked for the City of Glendale and will have my 35th year invested there in June 0f 2007. How does that sound for stability!!! Actually started with the City of Glendale, due to my Mom at the time was Chief of Police's (Thompson) secretary and, since I was graduated and really didn't have any extended college plans, she urged me to apply. Work for the Public Works Dept. Administration Section and I'm a construction project manager for all the new buildings and large public work projects over 2 million in cost. Its really been a great job, because I've had a lot of contribution in the projects and how they ultimately look and work for the City. vitalization 1984, Central Street Widening 1986, Fire Stations 22 (Glendale Ave./Palmer)1989, Fire Station 21 1992(Oak St. across from Galleria- probably the finest looking and functional station in the United States), Perkins Administrative Bldg.1990 (Glendale/Wilson), Main Library Re-model 1994, Hazardous Material Recycle facility 1995 (first in the state)and Waste-Recycle Facility (both on Flower Streets) and currently new Police Station and Pacific Park and Edison Elementary School Project (joint venture with Glendale Schools). So you can see I'm Mr. Glendale, allright. I've been married 34 years and I just have 3 kids, daughter 26, daughter 24, and son 22. I have retired on May 4th 2007 and will be traveling and keeping up with kids activities and their new lives beginning that all have graduated from college this last year in June 2007.
