Patricia's Story
Life
Hi there. I was in the a.m. graduating class of 1987. I have an 20 3/4 year old son and an 18 year old daughter... I am a Managing Director of an Investor Relations firm - live in New York. I am also a licensed skydiver (B license) with 700+ jumps to date and am going for my coach rating now.
I tried to keep in touch with people from my class - but you know how it is - people get married - move away - life happens I guess.
Well - if anyone remembers me from school and wants to get in touch - by all means - please do so.
It's always great to catch up on old times and fill in the missing gaps...
School
Wow - my funniest/happiest times were in St. Michaels - 9th and 10th grades -- my best friend Stephanie and I had so much fun...it was more of a party than "work"....but then 11th and 12th grades were different - I got a job and cracked down and my party was over. School was still great - but in a more mature way by then. I still look back on my 9th and 10th grade years as some of the best times of my life -- so much fun and so many experiences -- it was amazing.
Would I do it all over again? Most definitely - in a heartbeat!
Workplace
Hmmmm - work has been interesting I suppose. I never woke up and said "I w...Expand for more
ant to do investor relations". I got a job at a graphics firm part-time while in high school (not my first job -- I had some supermarket jobs first - then a p/t real estate office job, etc. - but this was my first serious job) and I went on to full-time with them right after high school graduation. The company wound up going under - so I took a job at a precious metal firm - fortune 500 company as a receptionist - and then moved to their telecommunications division. I stayed there a few years and then heard the firm was moving locations outside of Manhattan - so I went to an employment agency and was sent to a job interview in the same building -- for a very small ir/pr firm. I got the job and started here as a secretary. The company over time grew to a huge firm - was bought by another firm in London and grew to be an international conglomerate. I moved up the ranks through time -- learning all that I could while I was there -- and soaking it up like a sponge. After 16 years there - the company decided to shut down the portion of the business that I was in - and so I moved to the firm I am at now. It is funny how things work out sometimes - but as they say -- when one door closes, another door opens....so here I am.
