Patricia's Story
After graduating high school a mere 28 years ago, I got my nursing degree and promptly joined the Air Force. I knew I didn't want to stay in Hometown, PA and the service was a way to move somewhere else with some job security and time to figure out my wants. I spent 4 years in Albuquerque, NM at Kirtland AFB, explored a beautiful section of the country and met my husband. We then moved to Biloxi, MS to Keesler AFB where I found my love of ICU nursing but decided that my full-time Air Force career had come to an endpoint.
I joined the Air Force Reserve and we moved to Kentucky for 3 years to again figure out what we wanted to do. 2 nurses working full-time and having 2 small kids can almost starve so my husband went back on active duty in the Air Force and we have been moving around the US and Europe ever sin...Expand for more

I have lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, Navarre, FL, Mackenbach, Germany, Hayes, Virgina and Porta Martins on Terceira in the Azores. The Azores is a string of islands that sits 800 miles off the coast of Portugal and is absolutely gorgeous!! As my husband has gotten orders I have worked mostly in ICU's across the country. We are now living on Thornham Farm in Methwold in the United Kingdom and I can't wait to explore the British Isles. I'm still in the AF Reserve as a Lt Col attached at Langley AFB.
My husband is a Major and will be running the Emergency Dept at the hospital on RAF Lakenheath. My daughter is 16 and will be a high school junior in the Fall, eeecckk! And my son is 14 and will be a freshman. Where has the time gone!!
I've had a quite a ride since leaving PA and the fun isn't over yet.
