Patricia's Story
Hi old friends. In school, I was shy around most but a nut to my friends. A lot of that came from my weight. I missed a lot of fun because of the ugliness that I was forced to endure about my weight.
Since graduating, I became a nurse. I was do unsure of myself that I didn't go to college until my oldest daughter was 4 years old. When my husband convinced me to go back to school and follow my dream, I took the NCLEX to enter nursing school and made a 98%! I was able to enter nursing school, speed through my classes and graduate number 1 in a class of 90 nurses that graduated at the time I finished my classes and clinicals. The wild part was that I actually only went to school for 9 months total! After graduating, I took my licensing exam and passed after answering only 80 questions! My only regret was not having faith in myself to do it sooner.
I am married and have 2 wonderful girls. We live in Deep Creek area of Chesapeake. (I know, don't say it!) The oldest is now 18 and has just finished her first year of college following graduating from Deep Creek High School. My youngest is 10 and is in the 5th grade at Deep Creek Elementary bes...Expand for more
ides being a phenomenal fast-pitch softball pitcher.
She plays on Deep Creek Baseball and Softball Association's recreation league team and also on a travel/Sunday select team. "Lizzy" is the talk of DCBA website and has quite a following.
Lizzy and Caitie are very close and Caitie helps her little sister continue to develop her pitching. I am very proud of both of them.
We also raise show rabbits....yes, show rabbits. I have been doing that for 26 years and I dearly love it.
I raise American Fuzzy Lops and have shown around the US and Canada. Very rewarding. I do not physically go to shows now as my health has deteriorated.
I have some health issues that have caused me to have to go on disability and give up my career as a nurse which has hurt me greatly. I LOVED working in the hospital. I tried every aspect of nursing but my health became such an issue that I had to eventually give it up altogether. I have chronic severe pain so I am limited to what I can and cannot do. I do all that I can so that I can go to my little girl's softball games. She is something to behold.
Take care everyone and know that I think of my friends fondly.
