Patricia's Story
I was in Mother Marie DeLourdes group. I didn't graduate from St. Germaine's because I was one of the first to go into the new group home in the Bronx, St. Peter's Ave. I believe I arrived at St Germaine's in June 1966, left for the group home in 1968. all and pretty. I remember our 4 cigarettes per day, playing handball a lot. I remember someone named Linda, think she was blonde. Was she the one who could shoot from half court? A few things here and there, I remember. I remember Barbara B from Mother Helene's group. My nickname was Pokie. Towards the end, I really enjoyed being there and was happy to go to the group home, but it too close to home...I jumped the turnstile, and never went back.
