Patricia's Story

Life I'm a scout and scuba mom when I'm not working at Glendale Community College. Randy and I married in 1987. We had Mitch in 1992 and life hasn't been the same since. My step daughter Kristin (27 yr old) lives in NC and is a big NASCAR fan. We enjoy mostly outdoor stuff like hunting and camping. My deer hunt will be the end of October and the boys will go elk hunting over Thanksgiving. We have two German Shorthair Pointers: Cocoa and Mocha (guess what color they are?). Mitch recently had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor and has his Advanced Scuba PADI certification, so that is where we spend most of our spare time. Except Randy does find the golf course quite often. This summer the kids and Randy went scuba diving in Cozumel. They said it was great. I enjoyed a day of solitude, peace and quiet on the beach :) College Started at Glendale Community College (79-81) transfered to Baylor University (81-82) where I only lasted a year. Grand Canyon College (82-84). Could not wait to get out of school and was glad I finally made it. Then twenty years later went to Northern Arizona University (01-04) to finish my masters and really enjoyed it. Would really like to hear from anyone who went to school with me -- send me a message. Workplace Worked retail most of my high school and college years (Fashion Conspiracy -- anyone remember that store? Then helped open a few Target stores in the Valley) Spent 12 years at Phoenix Newspapers Inc. (The Arizona Republic/The Phoenix Gazette) my last day was the last day for the Gazette. Had a short stay at Grand Canyon Univeristy as the PIO until Dr. Williams was getting ready to retire and it was time for me to more on. Then I became the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Glendale Community College. It was fun to work for two of my Alma Maters. I am presently competing for the Director of Insitutional Advancement at GCC -- time will tell.
