Patrick's Story
Life
Following graduation, I attended ISU, IU and graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. I owned a funeral home in NW Indiana for almost 20 years. Upon selling the funeral home. I moved one of my businesses to Savannah,GA, sold it and moved to Panama City, FL. I then moved from Panama City to Pensacola, where I have lived since 1994. I am now retired and enjoying my time with the ladies in my life, Baby, Molly, and Dominique; a mutt, a Lab/Chow, and Dalmatian.
I have been active in the Lions Club and various organizations in the area. Before moving from Indiana, I served as the 60th President of the Indiana Jaycees. This was one of the greatest years of my life.
Until my retirement in 1999, I was Operations Manager for a group of funeral homes and cemeteries here in Pensacola.
I have two sons Chris who lives in Indianapolis and works as a heavy equipment operator and Geoff who is serving this great country in the US Navy. At...Expand for more
this writing he is heading toward the Suez Canal on his way to ... guess where .. it's classified... Yeah right. I one grandson, Nolan, who is going on 5 and is no doubt the anti-Christ, but is the joy of my life. We have a new addition, Ms. Paige Victoria Cardwell, who was born on November 7, 2001. Talk about wrapping papa around a little finger.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Workplace
I am one of those strange people who loved their work. I started out in Pre-Med and ended up being a funeral director. I decided instead of making the mistakes I would cover them up.
I was forced into early retirement by allowing quack cut on my back. I got to hear the dreaded word no one wants to hear in surgery ... Oooops! Anyway, that's water over the damn. I make the best of every day and if there was ever a place to be medically retired, it's Pensacola.
I honestly miss my profession and the families I served, but we work with what we have to work with.
