Patrick's Story

I was the quiet one that ran in a small circle of people, did not do much, but was close to those in my circle. Ironically that quiet person grew up to be a Vice President in the Union AFGE (American Federation of Government Employees) and spent the nest 10 years overseeing 5 states and the District (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC). I wound up having to retire early on a disability, but could not stay down for long. I am now in my second career (if you can call it that - it is way too fun) as a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol (US Air Force Aux) running search and rescues, teaching in school, mentoring cadets (as well as new Seniors-adult members). I am responsible for ensuring our programs are being utilized to the maximum in participating schools and to assist where needed, I work with cadets to get them into programs they ill excel at and enjoy. I am in contact with various school systems, businesses we have a relationship with, as well as the many missions we do. I am one of 4 mission safety officers in M...Expand for more
aryland so I am kept busy. I oversee our homeland security mission patrolling our land borders as well as our waterways, during these patrols we also look out for and smuggling operations. We have the world's largest fleet of single engine Cessna's and they are perfect for monitoring areas due to the fact they fly lower than jets and much slower so more can be seen at one time. I am the proud father of 4, two of which joined CAP, my oldest son - who is now in the Army - and my youngest daughter. My children are 20, 18, 13, and 11 running boy-girl-boy-girl. They are my pride and joy and thankfully I can stay at home and work to take care of them (although when we go out there all any number of older cadets and seniors who hang out with them and torment them - kids love it. I am a divorced single parent and feel like I got the best of the deal (she can keep the objects - traded them gladly for the kids. I don't really know what else to say, other than if you have any questions or want to make contact - please feel free to I will be happy to catch up.
