Patrick's Story
Life
I was born in Eureka, Calif and lived there attending the Marschall Elementary School and Eureka Junior High. I moved to Lakeport, California attending highschool there. After doing my "hard time" at Clear Lake Union High, I spent 1-1/2 years at Santa Rosa Jr. College, then moved to Reno for more than 22 years. Spent a few years working my way thru college at Univ. of Nevada, but prior to grad, joined the Nevada Air National Guard. Spent nearly 23-years (starting in 1962) flying USAF/ NevANG fighters (F-100, RF-101, RF-4C and other somewhat slower types). Spent most of that time going as low and as fast as I could go. The unit deployed in Alaska, Panama, Japan, South Korea, Viet Nam and all over the USA. Even met-up with my "best bud" Jim Keck in a sand-bag bunker in Bien Hua AB, Viet Nam. I retired from the NevANG in 1983 as a Lt. Col. Also in 1969 I went to work for United Air Lines as a pilot. It took about 15-years seniority to make captain. Flew the 727, 737, 757, 767, 777 and the DC-10 all over the globe, loved it, retired in 2001. I did eventually graduate from Univ of Nevada with a M.S. in Geology a...Expand for more
nd had my own mining consulting business in Nevada for a number of years. Still, and always will dabble in Geology. A great outdoor sport, it is! Now, I spend my time on ATV's here in Northern Nevada. I served on the BOD of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA) for 6-years, and I semi-professionally re-create replica black powder long rifles. I was blessed with three kids along the way, 2-boys and a gal. I now have 9-grandchildren, and "3-greats"! For the last 7-years I have been flying a Beechcraft Duke and several models of the Cirrus SR series, the 20, 22 and 22-Turbo and just now checking out in a Cessna Turbo 210 in which I will fly charters and government military contract electronic warfare missions. God has been good to me in keeping my health up to the point that I am still passing the annual Class I physical I am married and greatly blessed with my wife, Robbie, a Texan thru and thru. We are enjoying retirement so much. We are deeply grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all that we have, and enjoy, and share. Come visit us in Minden, Nevada, and we are in the phone book!
