Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away... Those are two of my favorite quotes! A little or a lot about me now...... I attended College Hill Academy until my junior year, then transferred back to Oxford High School. I graduated from OHS in 1975 with most of the people I went through elementary school with! After graduation, I entered Ole Miss and started working toward becoming a teacher. After my freshman year, I married my husband, Gary. I worked harder and faster than ever to finish my degree to become a teacher. So, I graduated in December of 1978. Because teaching positions are usually not available that time of the year, I did a lot of substitute teaching and entered graduate school, mostly taking night classes. I started my teaching career at Lafayette Elementary School in Oxford, MS in the fall of 1979. I taught first grade for two years during the school years of 1979-1980 and 1980-1981. After that, my husband and I moved to Wyoming. I continued teaching in a small WY town called Powell and a school called Parkside Elementary School for four years where I also taught first grade. The school years included 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84 & 1984-85. During the summer of 1985, we moved to Cody, WY, only 30 miles away due to my husband's new job. I chose to be a "stay at home mom" for a few years to our 2 year old daughter (born in 1983). Because I started my Master's Degree in MS, I had to finish it within 5 years, so I went back during the summer I was pregnant with my daughter and the summer after she was born and completed it.
