Tricia's Story

Life I have just returned to Canada after spending the last 9 yrs in the States. I'm in Edmonton working towards establishing my art career, and finding a job with a festival or theatre organization. I am currently employed with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and spent 4 months sailing around the Caribbean...an experience that has changed my life in the most amazing of ways. I have met many people from many different cultures around the world and I'm looking forward to exploring the incorporation of these elements into my artwork. This summer I'll be bringing my two daughters to Canada for the first time..something we are all really looking forward to. They are 10 & 6. I'm hoping to make a trip up to Whitehorse with them, but it depends on a lot of other things. School Highschool was a very difficult time for me...mostly because of an extremely unstable home life. I've always regretted that I didn't graduate, but in the end, it's turned out well. I have great memories of CKHS & FH. My highschool strategy was to make as many friends in as many groups as possible, instead of just sticking with one group, and I think it worked. I remember on the first day of school at FH, I decided to wear my "Chrome Plated Pants"-literally this BRIGHT silver shiny pair...with the idea tha...Expand for more
t after that for the rest of the year, whatever I did or wore, everyone would say "Oh that's just Tricia." :) Workplace Back in Whitehorse I did several things, but my professional career really got started at the Guild Hall with Sheila Dodd. She mentored me and got me going on theatre production. From there, I got into Frostbite and music festivals, then on to the Storytelling Festival. I've worked for a few Festivals outside, and a few theatres here in the states. I've volunteered for the Sundance Film festival for the past two years that we've been here in Salt Lake, and I've applied for Permanent Resident...NOT giving up my Canadian Citizenship. I'm currently working as a follow spot operator (spot light) for the Egyptian Theater in Park City. For about the past 5 years or so, I've been exploring my artistic vision with mosaics. I've sold quite a few pieces, and now that we've moved into our new house, I have my own studio and have gotten an agent!! I'm really excited. I LOVE making them and would love to get into huge murals & logo's and stuff. I mostly do metaphysical type things-faeries & nudes and things, but I'm always up for anything. So...one or the other....world famous mosaic artist, or world famous producer...gimmee 5 years and we'll see which wins out;)
