Patty's Story
What a long strange trip it's been!
Since leaving Mayfair at the end of my sophomore year, a LOT has transpired.
I married Bill James in November 1969, had my daughter Kelly in June 1970. Bill and I were together for 5 years, then we divorced. I went to work for Lucky Stores in their main office in Buena Park, and met my next husband, Nick, there. We bought our first house in Ontario, in 1976 while we were still working in Buena Park. The house was brand new and cost $40,499.00. I can only imagine what that same house goes for today! We sold it a few years later to move closer to work, and moved to Fullerton. We were thinking of moving out of state, to Washington, and made the big move in 1983. Nick transferred to Schuck's Auto Parts in Spokane, and I transferred to Pic-a-Dilly Apparel, both divisions of Lucky's. It was hard living away from family and friends, and making a quarter of what our former California incomes were. I stick it out as long as I could, then came back to So Cal, leaving Nick to sell our place in Spokane and move our stuff back. It wasn't meant to ...Expand for more
be. Nick had hooked up with a girl from work by then, and didn't want to leave Washington. He brought down my furniture and headed right back north. I was on my own for a while. Then I reunited with someone I had worked with years before, Ken, and the next thing I knew, I was moving to Portland, Oregon to live with him. We got married a couple years later, it only lasted a year and a half. I was working in the computer industry, and had made a lot of good friends along the way. I met my last husband, Brian, while working for a major computer reseller. We travelled all over, had a great life until he discovered EverQuest, (or should I say
EverCrack?) The marriage ended when he chose a video game over our marriage, but we remain friends to this day. I recently moved to the greater Dallas area of Texas. I am living with my daughter until they relocate to Malaysia, then I will be housesitting for a couple years rent-free in a mansion with a pool. I have two dogs:
Duke, my big black Labrador, and Sadie,
an Australian Cattledog. Presently single, and planning to stay that way!
