Paul's Story

After Goodall and Hixson, I lasted about 6 weeks at Webster High School. By then I was already working 50-60 hours a week to feed my car. Anyone remember that 66' Mustang of mine, well that Mustang was a big mistake because in 71' I was drafted into the Army and spent 3 years in Germany in a combat MOS. As a trained soldier, I served as a tank gunner on an M-60 A-1 tank. That¿s where I also graduated from high school, Nuremberg High School. Honorably discharged in 1975 I returned to Webster for a short period before I enrolled in a community college, 1977, in Belleville, Illinois were I graduated with an Associate¿s degree in Arts & Science in 1983. In 1981, I enrolled in SIU-E and attended night classes before quitting in my senior year in 1984 which I attribute partly to mental stress brought on by the tragic deaths of my two little brothers Freddie and Stacy. I married the only woman in my life, Helen Constantine in 1977. I meet Helen at a Cardinals baseball game in 1968 and we reunited in 1977 when we found each other while attending college. Helen and I lived in Cahokia, Illinois for 25 years ...Expand for more
before moving to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in 1998. I owned and operated a printing business, Cherry¿s Lazer Printing with shops in downtown St. Louis and on highway 3 in Cahokia before selling them in 1998. Helen continued attending college at Washington University and St. Louis University while working at McDonnell Douglas, later bought out by Boeing, earning a Master¿s at both Universities. It took me 30 years to finish my Bachelor¿s degree but finally on November 1, 2007 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from the University of Phoenix. Today I enjoy writing; I write articles mostly politically and economically motivated. I have also started writing several novels such as a modern day Mark Twain; which are experiences learned while growing up in the ghetto in St. Louis between 1957 and 1965. My next chapters will include my experiences between 1965 and 1972 that I learned living in Webster. I encourage any of you that have memories or experiences involving me, good or bad, to express them so I might include them as well as my own. Does anyone remember the Goodall Gladiators?
