Paul's Story
Life
Did six years in the USAF out of high school and have 25 years in computers. Well, things continue to change. The car sales thing didn't work so now I am a sales representative for Levitz Furniture and Mattress. Love the work, see if I can make a living. To put it mildly, a workers comp claim put an end to Levitz. After a few more iterations, I am now working at Disneyland as a Security Officer and happier than I have been in a long time. Due to the requirement to pay to see your visits on my profile I will be quite awhile before I can see them, pay at Disneyland has not kept up with the cost of living to put it mildly.
Living back in California again and waiting for the next reunion since I couldn't make the 30 year.
School
Since I was a military brat, we didn't really settle down until we got to Tehachapi and I was in 5th grade by then. Wasn't always easy being the 2nd youngest and the smallest person in your class. But that never stopped me. Tough as some upper classmen made it, I still enjoyed my high school years, with the possible exception of my shattered left leg I got in PE playing TOUCH FO...Expand for more
OTBALL our sophomore year!
Least favorite subject question in school profile doesn't apply. My least favorite teacher would be a tie between Mr. Anderson and Mr Crowe, the clown who replaced our German teacher our senior year.
College
This is tough to write because I was working full time in the US Air Force at Beale AFB on second or third shift for the entire two years. Going to school days was a great change from working on B-52 electronics. I loved my all my courses and in particular, my computer science courses. Made a few good friends that I would love to hear from some day.
Military
Nine months of tech school for electronic warfare did not really prepare any of us ECM techicians for the reality of working in a B-52 ECM shop. Those 2+ years at Beale AFB in the 456th and 17th AMS squadrons were a blast, even though we had a pretty crappy shop chief for about a year. Then a year with the 9th, pseudo working on SR-71 ECM pods. Then I finally got my cross training to Computer Programming and left to finish the last 21 months of my six year enlistment at Offutt AFB, NE. Cold place with far too many officers.
