Paul's Story
Life
Dear fellow students,
After graduating from Hillcrest High School, I attended the University of Utah, University of Wyoming, and Universities in Leningrad and Moscow, where I studied Russian History, Politics and Language and I also studied two years at the University of Warsaw, in Poland. I speak both Russian and Polish.
From 1970 to 1982 I worked at Beehive Machinery on 9100 South and 5th West in Sandy, where I was a Director and the Sales Manager and had a chance to travel to all 50 states and to over forty countries, including- India, Iran, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Thailand, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, all of Eastern and Western Europe and most of the former Soviet Union, and else where. I was also the President of Beehive Credit Union and merged it with Utah Central Credit Union in 1980.
I worked from 1982 to 1984 as the North American Sales manager of a Dutch food equipment company and from 1984 to 1996 as the North American sales manager of a German food equipment Company, which was headquarted near Boston.
I also lived for two years in Melbourne, Australia and one year in Denver, Colorado, while selling food machinery.

outh of Poland in the Carpathian Mountains. I work for the Italian Consulate and teach advanced business english at the FIAT Motor Company, including accounts payable, accounts receiveable, work in progress, inventory control, finance, auditing programs and more. I also sell food machinery made in the United States here in Eastern Europe.
I have seen many changes in Eastern Europe and there are now brand new shopping centers, movie theaters and other modern facilities here, but you can also visit castles, churches, walled cities and many other historical sites from the 13th century onwards.
My wife and I bought a house here and we have satellite TV with over 1800 channels from around the world. We can watch CNN, FOX, CBS, ABC, and NBC and other news channels. We can listen to radio from Utah online on the internet, and can buy books in english from Amazon.co.uk and receive Newsweek, National Geographic and other english language publications through the mail.
From our house it is 5-6 hours to drive to Vienna, Budapest, Prague or Krakow, Poland. We can go by over night train to just about anywhere in Europe. We both love to travel!
I semi-retired when I was 45 and I am having a swell time!
Regards,
Paul McFarland
