Paul's Story
Graduated from electrical engineering in 1986 at Carleton U. in Ottawa.
Following university, I worked at Scott Paper as Project Manager for upgrading the plant control systems and electrical power systems for about 5 years.
I went on to work at Nortel for the next 5 yrs. as PM for major capital projects in the Real Estate department to build new facilities for Nortel.
My next position was at BLJC (Brookfield Lepage Johnson Controls) in 1999 providing project management for many other facilities like Canada Post, Public Works, Royal Bank, Hospitals, Nortel.
I then moved on to MHPM Project Managers in 2002 as Senior Project Manager for large projects such as the renovation of the Canadian Museum of Nature, RCMP new national headquarters and currently for the rehabilitation of Parliament Hill East Block.
My brother Brian and I started a small business in 1995 called Sunny Oasis Internet Corp. providing web site design, programming and hosting for clients which is doing very well.
My wife, Valerie, provides the accounting and bookkeeping for Sunny Oasis. See our web site at

Now living in Kanata with my wife Valerie and three children Sarah, Melanie, and Nick who arenât children any more. They are 23, 21, and 20 as of August 2011.
My wife and I enjoy traveling, cycling and spending time at ANY beach or just in our pool with a cold beer.
I think back now to those swamp parties, house parties, the comfortable snow bank on the way home.

rties, good times. Hope everyone has had a good life and all the best.
School
Went to St.Richards Catholic School in Scarboro, then on to Woburn Collegiate for a month before moving to Peterboro. Went to Crestwood Secondary in Peterboro and had loads of fun at parties, camping blasts, and general wrecklesness.
Moved to Ottawa for university at Carleton. Went from crazy first year living on campus to living with room mates off campus. Marks went from C's in my first year to A's in my final year. The first year of partying took its toll on my marks, that's for sure.
College
Carleton University was a blast. Learned to make home made wine and beer, and other party essentials. Had some great parties, went to many great parties and some excellent concerts. Pulled a few wild capers which I won't describe here due to possible repercussions from the authorities. Met my wife and took off to Europe with her just before my last year. Used some of the OSAP money to finance Europe and went poor for the rest of the year. Worst moment during university: walking into my 3rd year mechanics exam and realizing I'm an hour late because the clocks sprung forward an hour over the weekend and my roommate and I were studying so hard we missed the reminders. With exams worth 60% I failed the exam and had to repeat the course. Crap. Best moment: all the rest of the time. Moral of the story: I have never forgotten to set my clock forward ever again.
