Paul's Story

Life I am currently married to a beautiful woman who was an Elementary School Teacher for the past 38 years. We took a cruise upon the Sea Princes to Alaska to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We have no children. We both enjoy the Outdoors & going camping in our 25' Travel Trailer a couple of Weekends a month and usually go some place different for a week or more at a time. We go to museums, historical sites, etc. or just sit by a river, stream or lake and do nothing. I love to fish when ever I can. We also enjoy going to different types of Bed & Breakfasts for either for our BIRTHDAYS or to CELEBRATE OUR ANNIVERSARY. We enjoy going to Hotels with a NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTIES that we can dance the night away and stay over night with or w/o friends and then do the Champagne Brunch the next Morning w/ late check outs. In 2012 we took a 3 week vacation traveling to the GRAND CANYON via Travel Trailer. We also went to Las Vegas,NV. ; Bryce & Zion Canyon,Utah. I love NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY so much that we go out of our way to find NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBAL VILLAGES to learn so much more about the different TRIBES .They were all so beautiful to see and with the sunset they were ever more beautiful. For my 50th BIRTHDAY we went to HANNIBAL, ST. LOUIS & BRANSON, MO. THEN WE WENT TO NASHVILLE,TN. & WENT TO THE GRAND OLE OPRY PLUS MEMPHIS. HAD A GREAT TIME AT BOTH LOCATIONS.. I recently became a FULL SENIOR CITIZEN & have RETIRED from my job as a SECURITY OFFICER. I'm much more busy VOLUNTEERING at my church with the S.F./MARIN FOOD BANK PANTRY & helping with making almost 300 sandwiches for a homeless lunch bag handout program. School The Teacher that inspired me the most was Mrs. Studebaker in the Culinary Arts class who brought out my cooking talents. If I could do it all over again I would consider it just to be able to ask a couple of the girls I liked to the Prom which I never had the opportunity to go to. Looking back in the year book I did not know that there was a MEDICAL CLUB. If I had known that this was available at the time I would have joined up in an instant. College I was a student at the Community College of San Francisco studying welding procedures and currently have 3 Certifications in Welding. As soon as possible I want to get at least 3 more welding certifications. If at all possibile I would like to start a small business doing mobile metal repair. I do some metal repair on the side right now for family & friends out of my home. Workplace I worked for an Appliance and Kitchen Store in both Redwood City and San Francisco out of South San Francisco. I had left another Appliance Store in Redwood City as an Installer after 14 years. My other jobs have been Food Prep/Dish Washer,Pump Attendant, Security Officer for a local Hospital, Television &Radio Repair Tech., Sweeping Service, and a Auto Body Shop as a Parts Manager that didn't work out do to the health problems after 1 month. I worked for a Specialty Foods Distributer that supplies products to Hotels, Restaurants, Bakeries, and Cruise Lines. I have been with this company now for 8 years. As of June of 2013 the company I work for had been sold to a business from back East called Chefs Warehouse/Dairyland Company who is in the process...Expand for more
of moving the company from Burlingame,Ca. over to Union City,Ca. As of 2/19/16 I was w/o a job and was looking for an employment. I had the opportunity to work for the San Mateo/Foster City School District but it fell through. I had been asked by a friend who does low income housing projects to go out & oversee either the construction or the repairs being done & to be sure they are being done right. One day I was helping with a project at our church and the owner of a SECURITY COMPANY & I were talking. He had mentioned that he needed to hire more SECURITY OFFICERS & I told him that I was SECURITY OFFICER for a SECURITY COMPANY as well as MILLS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. He did a check and found the information. He hired me right on the spot. In just the 6 months that I have been working for this company I have been promoted to an F.T.O. (FIELD TRAINING OFFICER) to train the new recruits the right way of handling situations the correct way. Military I have no Military time put in because of health problems. I always wanted to be a EMT. My family thought that was a DUMB idea. As it turns out, they were SO VERY WRONG as I am always called on in a medical emergency where ever I happen to be with the wife and/or friends. Some of my friends & neighbors say that because of my studies/knowledge of first aid I should have been one. While working in a local Hospital as a Security Officer I spent a lot of time in the Medical Library either on my breaks or at lunch reading quite a lot of Medical Journals, books, magazines, etc. I am currently a volunteer with the SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT in Search & Rescue-NEIGHBORHOOD EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (N.E.R.T.). I am also working on becoming a volunteer with the SAN FRANCISCO POLICE DEPARTMENT (A.L.E.R.T.) AUXILIARY LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE TEAM and in the MEDICALl FIELD - MRC (MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS) working along side Doctors & Nurses doing Triage in a disaster. I like being involved in anything that I can help our community be SAFE & SURVIVE in a disaster. I also volunteer at our church doing anything that needs to be done (i.e. El Nino Storms working a shelter for about 15 - 20 homeless guests from 20:00 hrs. until 06:00 hrs. then send them over to the church basement for breakfast).I also also belong to a Men's Club at the Church working on making repairs around the grounds & doing fund raisers for the church as well. When we have functions( PARISH PICNIC w/BBQ. or a SPAGHETTI DINNER) to raise money for the church I am usually the one doing all the cooking. I ENJOY LISTENING TO NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE, DRUMS OR CHANTS OR READ BOOKS OF DIFFERENT SUBJECTS TO RELAX & UNWIND. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to my church, on investments, pay off family mortgages, some in the bank & then on my wife and I for going on camping trips. I share my home with my wife, who I found very beautiful & loving. The way I like to blow off steam is get out my cd's or tapes of Native American Drums/Chants and crank up the volume to its max. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mrs. Studebaker, because I want to thank her for bringing out my true love of cooking..
