Paula's Story
Life
Married (second time around) and have 4 children , 2 sons, 2 daughters, a son-in law and daughter in law, and two grand daughters and one grand son. Very proud of all of them-they are great people. (of course, I may be biased)
Pets- we have spoiled rotten pets. a miniature poodle, a minitaure schaunzer and one very bossy long haired cat.
Would love to hear from class mates-drop me a line and let me know what you are doing. :-) Paula
College
3 years in a Catholic Nursing School-that was right next to the convent......
When I was there, the dorm building was new- and we only had girls. No fun? Yeah right. We had VERY strict rules-and of course you all know what rules are for. Thats right-figuring out how to get around them. Oh, the stories I could tell...
My roommate was the best. She was a devout southern Baptist-I don't know how she put up with me for 3 years!!! She obviously had to have a great sense of humor. I don't know if I would have made it through school without her-she was "focused" for both of us!! (Thanks, Barb)
52 girls on one floor with 1 payphone-we didn't have cell phones!! I can't eve...Expand for more
n imagine that now. Things were so different then-I think in many ways they were better. It would have been nice to have a computer and email!
The nursing curriculum was difficult, without some of the rules, many of us would not have made it. I would not want to go through that again!!!
From the "Story Wizard"
How I want to be remembered?
Tough question-I hope I am remembered as a friendly, caring person. Looking back, I feel that I kept to myself alot-with only a handful of "buddies". I became more out-going in nursing school.
When I "grow up" :
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
How I blow off steam :
MUSIC !!! I play guitar, and I am learning to "fiddle". I love to listen to all forms of music, esp. bluegrass, celtic, jazz, blues and musicals. To destress-I meditate and do Tai Chi.
The "wildest thing" that I ever did in school was to cut class in my senior year to catch the bus and go to the Dewitt Shopping Mall, where I worked in Woolworths as a waitress!! Of course, I forged passes to get me out of school.
