Peggi's Story
Having grown up in Mariposa, California, living my 7th grade year in Hanford, CA (Woodrow Wilson Junior High) and then moving to Pueblo Colorado (Park Hill Christian Academy) and then moving to Tulsa my Junior year in high school, I now reside in Broken Arrow, OK right outside of Tulsa.
I have been married since Dec 2,1987. I have 2 sons, Samuel (oct 14, 1989) and Benjamin (dec 18, 1991). I was in school when my oldest son was born and life took a left hand turn into chaos. My son was not healthy and spent the first year of his life in and out of the hospital. My youngest was born with the same problem (the reason I only had 2 children when I'd always wanted 5 or 6). I entered the hospital to have my oldest healthy and walked out with not 1, but 2 incurable and potentially fatal autoimmune diseases. Myasthenia Gravis is quite rare (if you know who Aristotle Onasis is, it is what made his eye lids droop) ...Expand for more
and Lupus, not so rare.
It took me 18 years ... but I finally got healthy enough to return to school. As of this writing (May 1, 2011) I'm a full time student majoring in psychology, planning on going all the way to a PhD in clinical psychology. I want to work with families who have children with disabilities. I should be graduating with my BA in Dec 2012, then masters, then PhD ..who knows how long I'll be in school .. hopefully done before retirement age :)
My children are healthy now, and fanastic young men. They both are great people who have good character and love the Lord.
My husband had polio at the age of 3, and despite predictions to the contrary is doing quite well.
Life is GREAT! (my email is either Pearlsofaneagle at aol dot com or EaglerP at NSUOK dot edu ... also, we appear to be the only Eagler's in Oklahoma and my husbands name is Don ... we're pretty easy to find and not hiding)
