still own my home in indian harbour beach (currently occupied by renters so don't go knocking on my door). just as my husband and i were discussing moving to los angeles, we moved to washington DC instead, so i'm up here having a blast. i have a master's degree in social work, minored in addiction studies and am still a licensed cosmetologist. i no longer work in health care, i am a freelance writer and advice columnist. this takes me all over the place and lets me write wherever i become inspired like when seeing bands play, hanging out with my family when i am home, etc. i am applying to be a maya angelou teaching fellow in DC this year to teach social studies to kids in DC who don't always get the best of everything in terms of education, hous...Expand for more
ing, and life in general. living up here has been such a wake-up call an makes me feel very fortunate for the life i have and makes me want to work harder to make it even better, if that's even possible. still learning hungarian, cooking rad vegetarian food, and collecting records. just played 2 seasons of roller derby (i am retired from that after multiple injuries but still love to go to a good sunday night jam skate session) and am now back to skateboarding with my husband who skated for vans shoe company and is the best teacher ever, ha ha. i have 2 chihuahuas who are the best (although not always the best behaved dogs!). i love to read, started crocheting (made my first scarf this winter), and i love to enjoy all that the city has to offer.
