Penny's Story
My husband and I have been living in a 40 foot converted bus for the past 5 years. Therefore, we have done a bit of traveling. Have not hit quite all of the States and Provinces and have barely touched any of Mexico so are not yet ready to give that up.
Currently we are in Alaska working on the train between Anchorage and Fairbanks as Tour Guides. This is our third season on the train. Every year we say it is our last but we are entranced by Alaska and cannot give it up.
When September comes we will be heading south to warmer climes. Our winters are normally spent in AZ and California, but we have no definite plans for this summer so anything is possible.
We have five children and ten grands. One daughter and family lives in Anchorage which is how we came to Alaska in the first place. A daughter and family in California, a daughter and family in Nampa, ID, a daughter and family in Colorado and a son in Spok...Expand for more
ane. My husband's family is in Ohio. Just visiting all of them keeps us moving.
I graduated from the University of Idaho in 1966 with a teaching degree. Did a bit of substitute teaching and taught nursery school for part of one year. But my real jobs have been selling Real Estate for several years and working in high tech for about 10 years. Besides that my husband and I have had several businesses; a used car lot, a distribution company, a pawn shop, a towing business. Now we consider ourselves retired but keep finding these interesting jobs to keep us busy. Last year we operated a Christmas Tree lot in Mesa, AZ and worked at the Gem and Mineral Show in Tucson, in addition to the train jobs. We barely had time to get in a cruise to the Mexican Riviera with 6 other family members.
