Peter's Story

I think I have had a wonderful life. although a unique one. I was Born in Boston , Mass and enjoyed living there for the first 10 yrs. of my life. In Aug 1969. we moved to Torrance,Ca . The move was a little hard on me at that age, leaving all my friends behind, but very exciting as well. I was enrolled in Madrona elementary school in Torrance, California and was very scared of not knowing anyone and being the "NEW" kid. The first person that came up to me to welcome me to the school was a girl named Wendy Woodson. She became my 1st friend in California. By the end of the week I had made friends with another person named Fred Karlan and a few others. The three of us became very good friends and would hang out together at lunch and after school as well. It's funny but at that time you really don't realize that these are some of the greatest times and friendships of your life I think, at that age a friend was a true friend. One that you told your greatest most private thoughts and feelings. And they would confide in you as well, and you all understood each other. Today I am married to a very special and beautiful wife named Maureen. We have been married together for over 19 very good yrs. and we have a wonderful 11 yr. old son named Peter which I am so very proud of, and he is the most important thing in my life . And I am so very blessed to have them both. Tonight I picked up the computer and I was playing around on it and ran across this classmate.com site and thought...Expand for more
..." Hmm, you know what . I'm gonna fill out the information here and see if I know anyone from when I was a child". Well , I did just that, and was having some great fun looking up old school friends. And I remembered back to my two first friends in California that I met and thought it would be funny to send them a shout hello. I didn't find Fred's name here, but I did see a name that I think could be his sister. So I sent a msg. to her and asked if I was on the right track? I'll have to wait and see. Then I put Wendy's name in and WOW ! it showed up! I couldn't believe it. She had gotten married to a man named Richard and had had 4 children. I guess she had somehow registered on the site a little while ago. Soooo I said to myself, "you should send her a hello and see where life had taken her like the rest of us". I did just that, and then sent off the Msg. to her. At that point I saw a msg. printed at the bottom of the page from her friend that said that Wendy had passed away last April of 2008 from a complication on a medical condition. I was so sorry to hear this. She couldn't have been older than 47 yrs. old. And to have died at that young age leaving behind her husband and 4 children was so tragic and sad to hear. I would like her family to know how sorry I am to hear this information tonight, and pass on some wonderful thought's that I will always have of her. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. This night have turn out to be quite sad.
