Peter's Story
Life
Since highschool I have had absolutely no idea as to what I really want to do with my life. I recieved my AA from SJRCC in 98 and moved to Gainesville to attend UF. I became bored with school and joined the Army Reserves. When I came back from my military training I worked full time for a couple of years. I moved to Orlando in 2002 and started school at UCF. I'm pursuing a degree in Political Science and plan on attending law school after I finish. I recently volunteered for active duty service overseas so that is going to put school off for another year. I've had several relationships since highschool, I just recently broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years. I joined the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity here in Orlando and have had nothing but fun since. I've been to Europe a few times and highly recommend Italy and Germany as must see countries. The beer gardens in Germany are crazy and I hope to get back there for an Octoberfest. e had a lot of fun and have very few regrets. Update: I returned from Iraq in Feb 05, and I'm hoping to FINALLY finish my degree by Dec 05.

Military
Currently I am stationed at LSA Anaconda, Balad, Iraq. We are about 40 miles north of Baghdad, and we are now the most heavily attacked base in Iraq... definitely not something that I wanted to be #1 in. I have been driving in convoys, pulling perimeter security and working in support of the 101st and 1ID. So far this has been a really good experience for me and all I can say is DO NOT believe everything you read in the papers about our situation here. I have met so many Iraqis that are very friendly to us and will not stop thanking us for what we have done for them. It is a very small percentage of the population that is giving us trouble, but unfortunately that is the only thing the news back home will report on. I have been here since February 04, and I'm hoping to get back home sometime in January.
