Peter's Story
I taught at St. Boniface from 1971-1973. I really enjoyed my students even though they threw bowling pins at my ankles as I crossed our basement stage behind the curtain: this signaled the beginning of our gym class; I'd get back at you guys by throwing the ball with all my might when we played dodge ball or soccer; " my aim was to maim" was my unconscious mantra. I had some talented students who llater learned become distinguished citizens, although I have no idea who they are. A girl (Ms. Sampson) even published poetry. I attended a reunion in 1987 and met with some of you; to this day I have a picture--published on one of my many sites---showing one of my classes. ig, my dear freckled faced, funny girl passed on so soon after she graduated. She actually worked for my brother at the Cuyahoga County Welfare Office for a time. I'm retired now and live in Gulfport, Florida, after a run of 40 years teaching and making kids of all ages laugh while I secretly molded their minds to let their imaginations run amok as mine usually does. Check out my new book WHO LET THE BATS OUT? With my wife Dianne of 48 years, I also wrote a play called Vlad the Inhaler about a retired Dracula with asthma and sleep apnea. I have twi kids in their 40's and five grandbrats. Like me on Facebook and on Fanbase (I was quite a soccer player--as you know when I kicked your butts during gym class.
