Peter's Story
By the end of 1979 I was working full time, started going to SCCC nights part time. Took a lot of math and science. Found a job doing Quality Control in manufacturing. Worked as an inspector, learned the trade of precision sheetmetal, and machining. Worked my way into methods, machine tool programing, setup, and engineering. By 1987 of was a quality manager and chief inspector. In 1983 I married, later to get divorced in 1985. Put my family life and education on hold some what to pursue my career and its responsibilities and duties. Never did have children or remarry. Dated some but did find what I was looking for, didn¿t have time to look in earnest. The whole time I had a neck and lower back problems, also developed carpal tunnel syndrome in 1993. beral arts, took 23 years to get through SCCC. I could see even the trees had grown. In 2004 I started at SUNY Empire, finished that in 2006. Have a degree in Inter-disciplinary studies of Society and Cultures. In worked out to be like a paper a credit. Still have not found another niche, but have many hobbies and interests. Most recently is making sterling silver jewelry. Also I maintain a website and blog, like photography, and oil painting. I like to cook, and have my own place, money is ok for now. I joke I would make a good stay at home wife. I may continue on to get an MFA, soon I may decide that, or Art History. Right now I have family all over the world, I am the last to stay here in Suffolk County. Actually I like it here, the beaches and the weather. So as the years pass, its like I have lived many lives, some better than others. Cant think of what else to write, so I will stop now! Ha!
