HI, Class of '57. I joined the Air Force in Jul 58, went to Lackland AFB for basic training, then to Admin Tech School in Amarillo, TX, then to Laughlin AFB, TX, worked in Combat Security Police Orderly Room, then to Japan for two years in 1959, worked in Billeting Office. Then picked/selected to assignment in HQ USAF, Pentagon, Washington DC, in 1962, for three years, worked in message processing office, In 1965, went to Panama Canal Zone, Central America, for three years. Got married in 1966, married for 53 years. We had two boys and one girl, now have five grandkids. From Panama when to Great Falls, Montana in 1968 for one year, worked in missile training center, In 1969 was selected for assignment at Hq SAC, Offutt AFB, Neb. In Jun 70 - Jun 71 went to U-Tapao, Thailand to do my part in the Vietnam conflict. In Jun 71 went to McClellan AFB, in Sacamento, CA. Worked in the Command Post, then Group Headquarters Orderly Room. Thought I would retire in CA, but AF offered me a assignment in 1977 to Hickam AFB, Hawaii, who would turn that down -HA., in early 1980 was hand picked for special assignment to HQ NORAD, Cheyenne Mountain AFS, CO, so took ...Expand for more
