Phyllis's Story
Fifteen months after I became a widow I retired from the Post Office, fixed up the house and got it rented, and moved to Indiana where my granddaughter and family live, taking my son Bob with me. We have now bought a house here, and Bob's family, wife Lisa and son Kyle are also here. I am very involved with the Presbyterian Church and its ministry, with choir and La Porte Symphony Orchestra Chorus, with jail ministry and signed up for CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocate program to help children. I love this town and the opportunities I have here. I also love to reconnect with old friends.
One thing that might surprise folks at a school reunion is that I hang out at Gold's gym and I am more fit than when I was young.
What teacher would you love to see again? It would have to Miss Leanard, from 4th and 5th grade, so that I could apologize to he...Expand for more
r for not being very obedient and causing trouble by writing notes and talking and putting my friends first.
What's the wildest thing I ever did in school? I guess it would be the time Patricia Murphy and I walked around Greenlake rather than just to the mark that Miss Leanard said we could go to.
First crush? Can't talk about that - he's on classmates and I don't think he knows.
How do I hope old freinds remember me? As friendly as can be and I hope a good student and a good Christian. How do you remember me?
If I had one do over, believe it or not, I would probably marry earlier. I had a couple of really good chances when I was still in my teens.
I was born in Seattle, Wn, went to 11th and 12th grade at Prairie High in Three Hills, Alta, Canada, then moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1955 and stayed in that area until about fifteen months ago.
