Phyllis's Story
I am Phyllis Pearson Elmore, class of 1972, Ford High School. I grew up in Enoree, and attended Ford for six years, 7th-12th grades. My two most gifted teachers at Ford were Robert Shortt, and Elvie Miracle.
I am an alumna of Winthrop College, and I taught at Woodruff High School for two years, before marrying and moving to Dallas, Texas, where I spent my professional career. I attended graduate school at Texas Woman's University, earning the MA and the PhD, in 1983, and in 1989, respectively. I recently retired as a college professor in the Dallas Metroplex.

I have long been active in the civic arena, in organizations that positively impact all children.
For example, I hold membership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack & Jill of America, Inc., and I was a Big Brothers, Big Sisters mentor, among other opportunities. I joined classmates.com in May, 2020, out of benign curiosity, and to revisit part of my youth.
Life is good.
