Life David (Dave) Bryan Cox, 60, of Lodi, died May 6, 2003, at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco of complications from diabetes and heart disease. He was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Berkeley, to David and Barbara Cox (Bell). His paternal grandparents were Dave and Leone Cox of Kelseyville. His maternal grandparents were Harry S. and Clarice Bell of Quincy. Dave earned a pilot's license in 1969, advancing to certified mountain flying in Quincy in 1980 and commercial status in 1981. He owned and flew small aircraft up and down the West Coast. He owned and operated several independent concerns, including a West Coast produce trucking route, a custom door shop in Red Bluff, and a store, Earthly Delights, in Fort Bragg. Dave drove a logging truck for his uncle, George McElroy, in the Quincy area for a short time. He lived and worked in Northern California most of his adult life.
