R. Bruce's Story
Life
I was born in Columbia, Mo in 1952. Since my father worked for the ph company we moved fairly often. I lived and went to elementary school in the following states: Missouri, Michigan, Iowa, & Connecticutt. After high school I entered College in CT. in New London. then went to Community college.
Then after my draft # was 1 I enlisted in the Army. I was in for 3 years. After the army I finished College in WI where my father had been transferred to while I was in the Army.
After college I worked for the ph company in Iowa and Missouri. Then was laid off. I went back to college and got a second major.
It was during this period that I met my future wife. Jane. We've been married for 16 yrs and have 2 children, a boy & girl
We live in the same town my father and mother lived in.
My mother passed away in 1987. My father passed quite suddenly in 2001.
School
I started kindergarden in Columbia, Missouri. Then went to the 1st Grade in Owasso, Michigan.

nnell, IA. I went to 4th thru 6th grade at Fairview School in Grinnell also. I started 7th grade in Grinnell but after my father was transered I finished 7th and did 8th and 9th grade at West Rocks Jr. High in Norwalk, CT. I attended Norwalk High School from 1967 to 1970.
College
I started College at Mitchell Jr. College in New London, CT. I then attended Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, CT. While in the army I attended Central Texas College in Kileen, TX. I finished College at UW-Platteville,Platteville, WI. I received a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
While laid off from GTE I got a second major in Cartography at UW-Madison.
Military
I took basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ from March to May 1972.
I attented the USAICS at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. From June 1972 to Sept. 1972. I was a Imagery Interpreter
I was assigned to the 203rd MI Det. (Corp) at Ft. Hood, TX. I spend the remander of my active duty there, from Oct 1972 to March 1975.
On returning to WI. I was the in the Army reserve until 1990. With the 247th MI Det.
