Rachael's Story

I hope they remember me as a fun, happy person. I always wanted to be a florist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were probably wrong, since I hate working with dirt. My favorite way to relax would be at the beach doing nothing in particular. It seems that when I am there I have no worries on my mind. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my cell phone, debit card, and vehicle to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I guess my dad is my hero. He has always been a strong man and doesn't let things bother him or at least he doesn't show it on the outside. I wish that I could be more like him. For the most part I have always lived in the area. When I got married in 2002, I moved to Boones Mill...pretty much against my will. I didn't want to live there, but I eventually did...for six years. Things didn't work out between us and I moved to Roanoke in 2008. Seems that things kept going in a downward spiral from there and I am moving back to my childhood home with my parents in July 2009. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is David Zeh, because he was always a really good friend and could always put a smile on my face. My biggest surprise ...Expand for more
in life is that I actually got married and had a baby. Those were two things that I really never expected or wanted. Although the marriage thing didn't work for me, I love my daughter. Don't think I want anymore, but I do love her. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel everything and add on a bigger kitchen. My dream home would be a log cabin with big open living areas. I would love to see Ms. Fisher. She taught my sister Becky and I believe my brother Danny. I can remember going to the high school with Becky as a little girl when she was on the yearbook staff. Ms. Fisher would always let me play with her chalk and write on the blackboard. When I got to the high school, I was lucky to have her as a teacher myself. I always had a lot of fun with her. She was a very sweet teacher. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to my dad and sisters, then spend the rest on a home, paying off all my bills and vacations with Olivia. True happiness...hmmm...that is something that I don't have these days (or years). I am most afraid that I will never be happy again. To be truly happy, I would be with my daughter, Olivia, doing absolutely anything that she wanted to do. I would have a home or our own with no worries about anything.
