In a nutshell---1986:I got a BA in Biology (University of Chicago). 1986 to 1991:I did DNA research at U of Chic and Univ of NC, Chapel Hill. 1993:I got tired and earned another degree. This time a BS in nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduation, I married a Special Forces hunk and joined the Army myself. I was an army nurse at Womack Army Hospital-Fort Bragg, NC. 1997:I quit the Army and my husband. I became a traveling nurse up and down the east coast and eventually settled in Florida. 2001:I had a brain aneurysm! Managed to survive the surgery. God was looking out for me. The doctors said I would not be capable of working again, much less in a hospital. I refused to listen to them. Besides, I got bored and miserable on disability and social security. 2002-2006:I did occasional gigs as a church organist while working full-time as a Walmart cashier. Got bored, again. I tried a second job in data entry for about 4 months. I typed too slowly for their liking. Didn't like it, anyway. 2006: I got a part-time position as a teaching assistant at Bethune-Cookman University, School of Nursing. I LOVED it. I still had to work at Walmart for extra cash.
