Randy's Story
Life
Married since 1982. Daughter born 11/83, son born 6/88. Travel for business way too much, lots of toys and no time to use them. Used to play Sheep's-Head once a month with Rich Land for decades. Daughter married in 2007, son finally married in 2017, at least he married someone much younger. Empty nest years have been great! Time to move some place warm. Although my trip to Alaska had me looking into getting a pilot's license and moving to Juneau, Fairbanks, or Ketchikan. For an outdoors person like me, its still wild enough for me to consider it and ignore the winters. Or become a snow bird and live there for summer, and Texas for winter.
School
Favorite HS Teachers: Mochees, Auer, Gavin. Most vivid memories: Senior Dance - Elevator scene, Favorite Girl - Nauseous (nickname).
College
Not much to say....all night school to get my degree and worked to support the family.
Workplace
Best thing that ever happen to me was leaving Bell Atlantic (Verizon) and finding out that my talents were worth a lot more money. Pays to be the "Answer Man". Owned a couple of my own businesses as well....Expand for more
Favorite place was Falk and Bell Atlantic. Miss them both. Now at AT&T until the day I retire, or go do something non-technical. If you have to work with it, you get sick of it. Sure, it may make your life easier, not for me when I have to design and implement the next best thing. The cycle never seems to end. Time to open up a bait shop and sell worms.
Most recent update: Old age is setting in. Can't keep up the pace like I used to. Became a grandfather in 2013. Yup, getting old. Bought some hunting land with a trout stream and near my other summer home in Northern WI. Fixing up the place to hand down to the kids. Just what I needed, another project house. At least I sold the lake home to my nephew. Four places is just way too much to manage. 5 year plan was to finish the trout stream one off, sell the other two, and become a snowbird within 7 years. What ever happen to retirement at 55? Went house hunting on Lake LBJ near Horseshoe Bay. I can officially retire as of June 2018. Looking to sell my house, keep the places in Norther WI and snow bird it. Holding off until December 2020.
