Randy's Story
Hello, haven't been around in a long time. Too long of a time! I have lost track of most of my high school friends which is a shame. Some of us were very close and shared a lot of memories.
After I left New Underwood I lived in Rapid for about seven years and worked for Hubbard Milling Co. and Amoco Oil Co. I married but divorced in 1980. My job with Amoco took me to Sioux Falls where I met my wife that I have shared 34 wonderful years with. Through a bunch of downsizings and closings, Amoco moved me to Omaha NE, Des Moines IA, Davenport IA and finally the Indianapolis area where we are now. In early 1997, Amoco sold out to BP Corp. and approx. 47,000 employees lost their jobs. I was one of the lucky ones and received a very generous severance package. ting my 20th anniversary this October with them.
Through all of that my wife and I raised three beautiful daughters. The oldest one lives just two doors to the south of us and they have blessed us with a grandson and two granddaughters. Our second daughter lives in Avon, IN, which is approx. 5 miles to the south and she has both a boy and a girl. That makes five grandkids! Wish I could have figured out how to have them first! My third daughter lives in Denver with her husband of 2 years and they are looking to start a family in the near future.
I have been getting home every couple of years to see my mom and sister Janette. As a matter of fact I just came back from the Black Hills the first wee of August after riding my motorcycle out for a visit.
I look forward to going back to New Underwood and tracking down some of my old classmates and friends.
