Randy's Story
College
I attended Long Beach State, majoring in Journalism, till 1971. Quite a wild place then....lots of demonstrations and other unsanctioned political/social activity. Transferred to Humboldt State University in 1972, which I attended in a desultory way till I graduated in 1980. (Left and came back to finish degree.)
Workplace
I dabble at being a park ranger....and have been dabbling for many years, now. Most of my rangering has been at Grand Canyon, though I've also worked in Alaska and Montana. Still, it's not my life's ambition.....my first love is writing, and I'm still working at that.

y life. Ten years old now, and just started fifth grade. Where does the time go? In the autumn of 2005 Sharon, Wendy, and I left Flagstaff, Arizona (where I'd lived for 15 years) and moved to Murray, Kentucky. I'm still wondering why. Well, I know why - a great job opportunity for Sharon - but if I had it to do over I would have stayed in Flagstaff. I love the West, I'm a Westerner to the core, and I miss it terribly. As the line goes in "Rocky Raccoon": I'll be back as soon as I am able.
