Life
RETIRED 7/30/09. married to judi newman. february 2015 will be 43 years. 2 sons, keith (40) married 13 years to courtney. 1st grand daughter, avery elizabeth burnett 8/26/07. they are expecting twin boys 4/2010, hunter phillip and ryan andrew arrived 3/26/10. and kevin (38) married to grisel. evan edward arrived 6/18/09. moved to atlanta in '61 and have been in marietta, ga since '89 and i'm 8 miles west of the big chicken.
just reconnected with some old college friends, fraternity brothers and guys i use to play with in a rock n roll band. our band, the sound haus band, played for the grady high school, class of '65...your can see us on youtube..just enter either sound haus band, ed burnett, grady class of '65. bought a new cheap bass guitar and had my 45 year old kustom amp fixed and the speakers reconed.also bought a new ampeg pn410hlf cabinet, an ampeg pf-500 head, a seismic 2X10" cabinet, hartke pro 1800 18" cabinet.peavey 1x15 cabinet.. have been to see tommy knox play (american legion marietta)about 10 times. also touched base with an old drummer friend, charllwa spinks. have jammed 20 times with tommy dell, and charles spinks. these guys are part of the sound haus band.
have been part of the house band at hiram station's tuesday night open jam since 2/28/12. have been practicing with tommy dell (we played as the 5 dimensions in 1964-65) we did a gig in may for the junior league's derby day, still doing the open mic jam at hiram station on sunday nights. appears i'll be playing some with Mr. Blue Roads. hope it turn into many gigs.
my oldest, keith, and his wife went to florida for 4 days and we got to baby sit hunter, 2 1/2. what a hoot. lots of fun being around him at that age. not to sound like a typical grandparent, but i'm amazed at what he knows and how he connects ideas. life is good. just had 2 birthday parties, my wife of 41years 2 sunday's, ago and ryan & hunter's 3year old party this last week. lots of fun being around the family and grandkids. ie well be taking the whole family to the redneck riviera this September in 2 condos. shou...Expand for more
ld be lots of fun. life is GREAT. while at panama city beach, got to sit in with the band at tooties (pier park) so my grandkids could see me play.
had a great time with all the family in panama city beach and we're doing it again next september. . have two other band projects in the works. i am very blessed to have my family, and my health. ready for another week at the beach with all the family and grand-kids.....ryan & hunter are 4 1/2, even is 5, and avery just turned 7.
just got back from our 3rd family vacation at panama city beach.. really lucky that our whole family can be together...my wife, judi, will retire 3/17 and we hope to take advantage of my older son's recent change of employment to delta airlines. i.e. pass privileges.. i worked for eastern airlines for 23 years and we can get passes on some airlines as retirees, but parents passes on delta will be a lot better.
my oldest son, keith, (he now works for delta airlines). for Christmas, gave me a trip to san diago so we could take the uss midway (air craft carrier tour) jan 18, 2016....i'm a really big ww II history buff.. the flights did not look good (we have to fly stand by) so we went to new orleans instead. the 3rd highest rated ww II museum is there. we got there shortly after they opened and stayed until they closed at 5pm...stayed at the hyatt french quarter. came back the next day. it was really GREAT.
playing with mr blue roads again at big canoe, ga 2/19/16. and have just started playing for nashville recording artist mike mccarroll. will be playing a gig with him at the variety playhouse in atlanta, 2/27/16,,,
GO PANTHERS
flew to dayton in ferbruary so my wife good visit with her stepmom..the whole family flew to charleston in april to visit the uss yorktown. flew to charlotte for neal hood's (class of '61) memorial, flew back the following tuesday for the east high monthly luncheon at the open kitchen. flew back to dayton in june to take my wife's step mom up to toledo for her best friend's oldest son's birthday. he let me drive his fararie WOW is it fast.
