Ray Charles Rogers:  

As of March 2013, I retired from working and I’m currently enjoying spending time with family, playing golf, traveling, and performing community service work. I may start a third career, but right now, I’m enjoying “freedom from stress.” On 22 March 2013 I took an early retirement from the Lockheed Martin Corporation after nearly 14 years working as a Program and Project Manager. During this timeframe, I supported a number of very complex and interesting programs, ranging from building and delivering missiles and torpedoes to the Navy’s Submarine Force to manufacturing surveillance systems for the US Army. With Lockheed Martin, I was in a consistent learning environment and I felt like I was contributing to the National Defense, which kept me motivated. As a Lockheed Martin employee, I was on my second career. In August of 2000, I retired from the U.S. Navy after 31 years of faithful service. I entered the Navy in 1969 and, during my Navy career, I was “blessed” to be able to advance from Seaman Apprentice (E-1) to the rank of Commander (O-5). Over the years, I served on three different submarines and held numerous engineering-related jobs in support of the Navy’s submarine program.
