R K's Story
Served in the United States Marine Corps: 1st Marine Division and 1st Force Service Support Group from 1977-80. Retired as a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier in 1996. (Served in "Pre-Operations-Just Cause" in Panama, in El Salvador and Honduras, "Egypt/Somalia" in eastern Africa X 2, "Operations-Desert Storm" in Kuwait X 2 and in South Korea at Camp's Red Cloud and Casey on the DMZ.)
Also, worked as the Assistant Manager of the Cash Services Department with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta-Birmingham Branch in 1981-82, as the Senior JROTC Instructor at Ensley High School in 1996-97 and as the Deputy Veterans Service Officer for Madison County in Huntsville, Alabama for the state in 1998.

s a Foreign Service Specialist with the U.S. Department of State. I was a part of this organization from 1998-2011. Retired in March 2011 after extensive worldwide travel.
After finishing at G.W. Carver High in 1973, I attended Berea College in Kentucky-1977, and National University in San Diego, Califoria-1980.
The "new" Carver High School building seems sterile to me. I remember our original campus at 3300. "THIS IS MY CARVER" and remember fondly when as Freshmen we all had to learn the school anthem and rotated classes to the choir room and properly learned it. Oh, the happy memories when at Carver :).
I enjoyed my years as a student at Berea College, G.W. Carver High School and Lewis Elementary School!!!!
