Raymond's Story

If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have wisdom, courage, and tact to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my father alive, because I didn't listen nearly enough when he was in his flesh. Do you have a hero? Talk about where your inspiration comes from: My hero is my father ... for lots of reasons. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obsessions: I think I used to have a few obsessions. I now have interests. Check out my profile. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? One of my biggest surprises has been to see the hunter get captured by the game. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids: Children make parents parents. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Mrs. Anderson. She was the first person who heard me yelling silently inside for someone to listen to me, and to try to understand me. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on investing, enhancing the environment and world peace. Tall orders to fill, even with some wealth. Ever live in a dorm? Join the Greek system? Talk about campus life: I never was much of a joiner. I was asked to pledge by several "popular" fraternities but could not fix my lips and voice box to say "I accept." To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I'd be fishing and shooting the breeze with my father. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be at least half bald. I was so completely right about myself, and so completely wrong abo...Expand for more
ut Steve Williams. Working hard? Reveal your career aspirations: My spirit has always been restlessly calm and I have found aspirations, even when reached, to always leave me yearming for more. (ain't i gettin heavy?) What happened to your first crush? I do not know. My best friend would tell you I'm altruistic, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago?(more like 30 or 40 years ago) Talk style. Yes I sometimes do. Cuffed pants and wide brim hats, and I even have the nerve to top it off with an infrequent cigar at times. What's the weirdest job you ever had? Securing hazardous wastes and explosives. I share my home with me, myself and I, which I find peaceful. Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory: My only trophies that I carry with me are in my memories. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? I would cut this toenail before it became ingrown. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by ducking all the foul stuff that comes my way. Talk about your oldest friend—how you met and why you clicked. We were children together and continued to touch bases throughout the years. When we fought it was only to blow off steam. There was a trust between us. He's dead now, and no I did not kill him. How do you hope old friends remember you? I have fond memories of the Hawthorne/Stuyvesant crew so do not get me wrong when I say I do not care how I am remembered. I might find it somewhat entertaining to hear how I am remembered, but to hope I am remembered a certain way ... nah.
