Rebecca's Story

Life Since, graduating in 1993. I attended Elms College (1993-1997)for my BA in Psychology. Began working as a youth counselor for Tri-county youth program in Springfield part time while I was completing my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Springfield College. I graduated in 2000. I have been enjoying my work, working with children and adolescents in different areas from family preservation, residential, mobile crisis and now outpatient. I recent joined Community Mental Health Affiliates in New Britain. It has been a great transition. I have been taken classes at Tunxis Community for my next level to what I do with children and adolescents. I am currently taking classes in graphic design. I would like to write children's books and books for adolescents who are struggling with mental health. I would also like to create journals for adolescents to support their creative side and...Expand for more
nuture their internal self. My career is one of my many passions. My other is my family, Dan and I were married in October 2006 and were able to go to Italy for our honeymoon. A very joyous time for everyone. Dan has been working for Pratt and Whitney as a Finance Manager for 5 + years. He has a background in Engineering and has his MBA. He is a graduate of Cornell U, Boston U and Uconn. Our little one, Kathleen (now going to be 2 years old) and my other passion in life, has been keep us busy. She is amazing. We are learning every day with her and she is growing fast. She is a wonderful little girl. I am happy to add our second bundle of joy Benjamin joined us on January 8, 2009. Kathleen and him are getting along great. Henry the cat and Haley the dog have been doing well not only with Kathleen and Ben but with each other. They are truely taking their "New Years" resolution to heart.
