Rebecca's Story

Life After high school, I moved to Reading PA with my family. It was convenient for me because I could commute to college and save so much money! ( I have no college loans left, thanks to commuting and a scholarship!) I am currently living in Norristown PA with my husband, Ed Fisher, a 1990 grad of Norristown School District. I met him through my best friend (Christine Fudali also a 94 Neshaminy High Grad) who was dating and is now married to his best friend. We were married on August 16, 2003. We are expecting our first child with a due date of Februray 20, 2006. We have two cats and just got a puppy. His name is Guinness and he's now 8 months and still a handful. He's too adorable thought to stay mad at. School High School had its ups and downs for me. I was picked on by some and loved by others. But, to those who did pick on me in a hurtful way, thanks! It made me a more understanding person and totally thankful that I am who I am. I am secure in myself and proud of what I've turned out to be. While in Neshaminy, I was in the marching band, percussion ensemble, concert band and wind ensemble. I also did the musicals my junior and senior year. College When I went on to college, I stayed active in the bands and did percussion ensemble along with marching band. I joined the coed fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi and had a blast. Ok, so there were times when...Expand for more
I had disagreements with the diehards over what was more important frat stuff or school and family, but all in all, I loved it! I commuted being that my family moved to Reading PA after I graduated High school. I eventually have to go back to college, being that I am in education and in PA, you go to school and take classes for the rest of your life! Workplace WORK WORK WORK! Well, during high school and college, I worked at Hechinger's, Langhorne for a year then in Reading for 5 years. I was there until the end when it went out of business. Some good extra money and wonderful people walked in my life. I don't think I would happily go to sales ever again unless it was absolutely necessary. I started teaching at the Reading School District in Reading PA for the 98-99 school year. I team taught a bilingual pre-first. Another Kutztown Grad (Ashley Spiese) taught right across the hall from me. The following year, I was only there for half a year teaching pre-first and 4th grade. I was long term in both. For the 00-01 school year, I moved in Norristown and started subbing there to get my foot in the door. I then taught 6th grade history, followed by a year of 8th grade reading. I currently am a paraprofessional and hope to get back into the middle school teaching reading or history. We'll see what happens though after the baby. Maybe I'll decide to stay home!
