Rebecca's Story
40 years ago, I attended the 10th year reunion and realized a lot has changed in my life. 3 marriages, 2 divorces, retirement and coming out of retirement. Got married the 1st time the year after graduation and moved to Atlanta, 3 years and 1 child later divorced. Moved to Illinois, remarried after 5 years added another child and another divorce. After the 2nd divorce, redirected my focus to a career in Law Enforcement, my children and working towards a degree. Worked my way up to investigate Fraud Cases, interesting work and I finally had weekends and holidays off. Fast forward 15 years, remarried and husband was federal law enforcement, so a new adventure began. Moved to Oklahoma in 1999 and in 2000 started a corporate job (yep job, wasn't willing to start from the bottom in another PD). he move again to St. Louis to my 2nd corporate job at Wells Fargo Advisors who acquired Wachovia which was where I was working when they came along. Only stayed there a couple of years and went back to what made me happiest, helping people. Spent my last 3 years at St. Louis County Department of Health. Hubby transferred to DC which was cool because kid #2 and her family lived in Virginia. Well after getting stuck in traffic pretty much each time I left home, I knew I wasn't going to work in DC so I officially retired. We moved further south in Virginia in 2015, hubby retired and last year I started my own business teaching financial literacy. I love what I'm doing, teaching new strategies to protect retirement savings and help families build generational wealth. I truly hope the pandemic allow the Buccaneers a chance to get together for our 50th.
