My Spouse
A friend gave my address to my husband in 1966 while he was serving aboard the USS Ranger during the Viet Nam War. We wrote for 6 months and then met when the ship came into port on August 25, 1966 in Alameda, CA. We were married on December 3rd of that year.
My Kids
We have 7 children born in 1968, 69, 70, 71, 73, 75 and 77. They are all married and gone! The oldest lives in Connecticut and the youngest is in Texas. The rest live within 40 miles of us. They all have children of their own. We have 27 grandchildren.
What I do
I have two passions in life (besides my family, of course) -
Since I was a young child and received a camera for my birthday I've loved photography. I only take pictures of people when I have to (family, yo...Expand for more
u know) but love doing outdoor photography, including scenic, macro (close up) and wildlife.
Up to the time I lost my dog I would hike in the mountains behind our home two or three days a week (weather permitting, of course - I don't do snow). Without him to protect me I must rely on other people so I don't go very often any more. It leaves a large void in my life. I loved wandering around in the mountains alone with my companion and my camera.
My other passion is genealogy. It's like hiking in a way - it's a journey on a path that's never-ending and has a surprise around every corner.
My Pets
I had a purebred German Shepherd named Tell (Addison's William Tell Sackett). My precious companion passed away January 18, 2009. I miss him more than I can express.
