Renee's Story
Life
After High School I went to Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL and that is where I am today. I met my husband. Tony Carlisle, at Huntingdon and we married in 1974 and graduated together in 1976 (he got a full time job before graduation and took an extra year to finish). When he started working at Huntingdon I stayed home and started a family. Had a boy and a girl. Started back to work when our son went to Kindergarten. I also work at Huntingdon and have worked in several different offices - Music Dept., Registrar's Office, Education Dept., Music Dept. again, the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Academic Affairs and working for my husband who was Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty (he is now retired w/disability because of the cancer). Now I am back with the Teacher Education Dept. as Teacher Certification Officer. I am involved in Ballroom Dancing and Tony, who does not dance, goes to the cigar/smoke shop and plays poker. least 3 nights a week dancing - group class, private lesson, and Friday night practice parties. Our children, who are now grown, are finally out of the house which gives Tony and I more private time together. We are looking forward to this new phase of our lives. Now that our son is married maybe one day we will have grandchildren!
Since the paragraph above was written our daughter got married. Also we did finally get at least one grandchild. Eloise was born Feb 6, 2012. But with Joy there was Sorrow - my husband of 37 years passed away the morning of Feb. 7, 2012. I am thankful for my friends at Huntingdon, in Pensacola (the Brentwood Gang), and my dance friends. So again a new phase of my life begins.
It has been awhile since I updated. I am now retired, June 2017, and have a grandson, Henry, born September 2017. I am still dancing, added Argentine Tango. Sadly this year, 2020, I lost my dance partner (to cancer). Glad to have my family to keep me going! Oh, and my friends too.
