Renee Kim's Story
Feb 14, 2023 - Currently, I am a first time grandmother of identical twin boys. They were born July 15th, 2022. I am Nana and my days are spent helping my daughter and son-in-law care for the boys. My days are filled with overflowing love and joy.
Previously, here's my life to-date in a nutshell...
I hung around Jefferson for 10th grade, got bored, quit school, with my mother's permission and the agreement that I had to pass the GED exams and get my diploma, which I did when I was 16.
I hung out on the West Bank until I was 18 and then went to Ketchikan, Alaska. I worked as a Houseparent/Counselor at a group home for troubled youth and as the Youth Advocate Director for the City of Ketchikan. I lived in a cruddy old cannery house with a great view of the narrows and traveled throughout Alaska every chance I had.
I came home a year later and worked various jobs in the social services field while I took classes at the U of M, St. Cloud State, Anoka Community College and finished out my Associates Degree at Normandale Community College.

est guy friend from Oak Grove Junior High and spent 7 yrs with him.
I currently live in Downtown Minneapolis and I have been dating a great guy for the last 5 years. Update: No longer dating "great guy". As of 2010 I'm just dating and if a new "great guy" comes along so be it. Update: I've reconnected with the "great guy"!
My daughter, who is the light of my life, will be 22 in July. She is studying to Mechanical Engineering at the U of M Institute of Technology and plays the Sousaphone in the U of M Marching Band. Look for me behind the Sousaphone section at any of the football games, I'll be there!
Update: My daughter graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the U of M, Institute of Technology, Class of 2010. She is on her way to Germany to participate in an internship program and will be gone for 6+ months. LOL - Even though she has not lived at home since she was 18, empty nest syndrome is now about to " hit home".
Update: My daughter is home from Germany with many adventurous tales and a lot of pictures. She is looking for work in her field. And she has recently gotten engaged. As for myself, I am still living downtown and contentedly living life one day at a time.
