Rex's Story
REX GILLUM here. My birthday - 05/06/1936.
Graduated from : Gould Hi School in 1954.. BS FROM East TEXAS university in 1977. MS from North Texas State University in 1986.
Joined the AIR FORCE 1956 and retired in 1976.
I married Barbara Ann Neeley on 08/01/1958 (from Dumas. We are getting ready to celebrate our 65th anniversary this year.
I was lucky enough to get in on the ground floor of the computer revolution.
My Air Force career was spent in personnel and data processing , managing military records.
We lived in Lampasas , TX THEN Coperas Cove, TX. Albuquerque, SHREVESPORT, LA. Then to Ter...Expand for more
ceira an island (Portugal). From there we got to travel to mainland Portugal, Spain, ENGLAND, DENMARK, GREECE, . When we left our island we went to Big SPRINGS, Tx ( dust bowl!) Then to Carswell AFB in Fort WORTH, TX. We settled in the FORT Worth/Arlington area. We live in Burleson, south and adjoining Fort Worth.
I had started teaching Computer SCIENCE at a local college at night and was working for Murdock (a LOckheed Company. I had received my BS and MS degrees. I retired after 16 years teaching. I just took up GOLF to pass time. A fellow AF retiree and teaching buddy and I took up GOLF.!!
