reymunda's Story
I use to live down town on Second St. and Henderson. I attended John Peter Smith Elem. from 2nd thur 6th grade in 1956. Had lots of friends, Louise Smith, Frankie and Joyce Miller,Rachel Castillo, Joe Enriquez,Patricia Ingram, Silvina Sauseda,, Larry White,Tommy, Jerry,William Dodds, Barbara Nell, Dolores Hightower,Virgina,Patsy, Georiga,Kay,Mickie, David and Jimmy. Mrs Eads and Principal Mr. Bell.
In1958 I attended Ernest Parker Jr. High. I was sort of shy then, make friends easy. One was Juanita Reyes. Dora and Frances Aguilera, Kay Clay,Robert Perez,Carlos Vargas,Frances Powell,Mary Olguin,Jerry Thomas,Larry White,Jackie Vaughn,Tommy Huckabee,Lupe Trujillo,Howard Thomas,Jerry Roberts,Teddy Johnson,Dale Timms,Erma Garcia,
Patricia King, Virginia Mendoza, and Oscar Clepper.
I left school, but went back to get my GED. I got married and two year...Expand for more
s later had my baby daughter . Had another daughter and a son Stayed home to take care of my children. When the last one left I decided to work .Have been working for the FWISD as a Pk-assistant for 24 years. I love working with the 4 yr. olds. It is such a great reward for me to be able to teach them. I was married for 45 yrs.Lost my husband 4 yrs ago. Now I am in a relationship with a wonderful man. I am Grandmother and Great-grandmother too!
Just thought it would be nice go back in time and see what happen to my friends from Parker Jr. High. Well I guess some of you know that our school has been converted in to condos. I pass by there all the time. It brings back so many memories. I still remember our school song" Parker Jr for you we'll fight....We"ll were your colors purple and white."
