Richard's Story
Life
Growing up in Regina was a tremendous experience, even though I have recently moved to Victoria, BC.
My school life consisted of 5 schools...Massey (K-3), W.C.Howe (4-8), Campbell (9-10), Luther (11),Leboldus(12).
I loved almost every minute of school, especially being in numerous rock bands from 8th to 12th grades. The highlight of this illustrious (ha ha) musical journey was probably playing 4 songs for our 8th grade grad.
The band: Rick Baron, Rick Bell, Brian Jones, Dave Kohl.
Then came the Campbell years and our lineup: Brian Jones, Brian Wilson, Terry Esplen, Rick Bell. Any one remember us? Didn't think so.
Graduated from Leblodus, went on to MANY crazy jobs including McGavins, Taylor Motors, school bus driver, construction even being a DJ at Winston's, Delbert's and Checkers in the 80's.
At 25 years, I decided to get a real job/career and enrolled at U of R in Education. I taught elementary school in Regina for 12 years, finishing at McVeety...Expand for more
in 2003.
My wife, Jocelyn Duncan (dad ran Boy's Shop) was transfered last year (2003) to Victoria, so here I am! Teaching jobs not plentiful, so looking at a career change. Surprising the number of classmates that are living out here!
Love the weather and environment...miss my family, friends, Riders, Butler's at Regina Beach, familiarity and the students I've taught.
Had a GREAT life so far and many tell me I look 10 years younger than I am...healthy living and exercise sure help!
No kids...dogs and cats are our children.
I'm concerned about the environment, justice for all, youth crime, fairness and people contributing to society.
Love my wife and family, music (bit of a music buff), hiking, weight-lifting, sightseeing, animals, football, Canada!
Would love to hear from anyone that remembers hanging out, cruising Albert St., my parties on 16 Groome, going to the Old Gold and ,of course, the rock and roll years of high school. LONG LIVE 70's ROCK!!!
