Richard's Story
Rick recieved a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wayne State College majorinjg in English and Theatre. After graduation he taught at Kearney High School in Kearney, Nebraska for seven years. He then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning his Mater of Fine Arts degree in Directing. After UNL he was Director of Theatre at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. He retired from NJC aftyer 27 years.
During his career Rick has directed over 160 theatre productions on levels including high school, college, university and community theatre. He served on the board of directors of The Colorado Community Theatre Coalition for over 20 years. e Association, the Alliance for Colorado Theatre and the Sterling Arts Council. He has work-shopped at several state and regional theatre conferences. He served as a consultant to the Colorado Council on the Arts, the Wyoming Arts Council and the Idaho Commission on the Arts. Rick is also a practicing adjudicator for CCTC, AACT, NACT and ACTF.
His production of VANITIES was a Colorado state and regional winner and because of the performance at the national AACT festival the company spent two weeks performing at international theatre festivals in Dundalk, Republic of Ireland and Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.
Rick is currently teacing Advanced Productiion at Connections Visual and Performing Arts Academy and directing the theatrical productions at Summerville High School.
