I was born in Roanoke VA in 1955, graduated from NHS in 1973, and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1979 with a BA in Political Science. I served in the US Air Force for 30 years, retiring from the Pentagon as a colonel in 2009. from 2010 to 2018, I have been married for 36 years to Ruth Anderson, a retired 21-year Air Force officer and former member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. We reside in Woodbridge, VA, but are in Roanoke every few months to visit my mother, brother, and other family members. We are the parents of three adult children and grandparents to eight.
